Archiving Policy
ARCHIVING AND LONG-TERM PRESERVATION POLICY
The scientific journal «Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics» ensures open, reliable, and long-term preservation of all published materials, intending to safeguard the scholarly heritage and ensure permanent access to research outputs. The Editorial Board adheres to the principles of open science and guarantees that every published article will remain accessible to readers without temporal or technical restrictions.
1. Archiving Systems and Repositories
To ensure long-term preservation, the journal uses several independent archiving systems and repositories:
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
The primary digital preservation system for OJS journals. Activated via a built-in plugin on the OJS platform, it ensures the automatic deposit of all published materials into a distributed preservation network. Content becomes publicly accessible in the event of a trigger event (cessation of the journal’s activities).
University Repository (dspace.kmf.uz.ua)
Published issues of the journal are automatically deposited in open access in the institutional repository of Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University.
Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (NBUV)
The journal is represented in the collections of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine – Ukraine’s largest national repository.
Each article is assigned a unique DOI through Crossref, ensuring permanent identification and addressing of the publication regardless of changes to the journal’s website.
Metadata and full texts of articles are indexed in Google Scholar, ensuring their broad visibility and searchability.
DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
The journal is listed in DOAJ – the leading international directory of peer-reviewed open access journals – confirming the quality and accessibility of its content.
The journal’s self-archiving policy is registered in Sherpa/RoMEO – the international database that allows authors and readers to verify deposit conditions.
Index Copernicus International (ICI)
The journal is indexed in Index Copernicus International — an international bibliometric database providing journal quality evaluation (ICV) and broad visibility of publications within the international scholarly community.
2. Journal Website Archive
Upon publication of each new issue, all materials are made openly available on the journal’s website:
- Current issue: https://aab-economics.kmf.uz.ua/aabe/issue/current
- Issues archive: https://aab-economics.kmf.uz.ua/aabe/issue/archive
3. Technical Preservation Measures
The archiving and backup of the journal’s content is carried out using modern technical solutions:
- all files are stored in HTML and PDF formats, in compliance with international archival preservation standards;
- the journal’s databases are regularly backed up on external servers with multi-level protection;
- a secure hosting environment with SSL protocol support is used to ensure the security of data transmission;
- regular checks of file integrity and monitoring of the accessibility of archival materials are carried out.
4. Self-Archiving by Authors
The conditions and procedure for self-archiving by authors, which versions of the manuscript may be deposited, where, and subject to what requirements, are set out in detail in the separate document “Open Access and Copyright Policy”.
5. Long-Term Accessibility Guarantees
The Editorial Board guarantees permanent open access to all published materials without temporal or geographical restrictions.
In the event of technical failures or cessation of the journal’s activities: archival copies of materials remain accessible through PKP PN and the university’s institutional repository; all articles are preserved in national and international repositories; full texts remain open to readers and indexing.
6. Responsibility for Archiving
Responsibility for ensuring archiving is distributed among several parties:
- The Editorial Board ensures the activation and maintenance of the PKP PN system and technical backups, as well as the currency of metadata in Crossref and indexing databases;
- Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University ensures the maintenance of the institutional repository and the journal platform hosting;
- Authors are responsible for the correct self-archiving of their materials in compliance with requirements regarding the provision of a DOI and a reference to the original publication.
