Abstract

The article explores the current challenges of energy security management in Ukraine within the context of green transformation. The study analyzes the present state of renewable energy sources (RES) deployment, including solar, wind, hydro, and biomass energy, and assesses their impact on the sustainable development of the national energy system. The key obstacles hindering an effective transition to green energy are identified, such as the insufficient adaptability of existing infrastructure, limited financial resources, regulatory uncertainty, the consequences of full-scale military aggression, and global climate change. It is emphasized that transformational processes in the energy sector require not only technical modernization but also a revision of managerial approaches aimed at ensuring a rapid response to both external and internal challenges. The paper highlights the differences between managerial approaches to traditional and green energy, particularly in terms of strategic planning, operational management, financial support, and implementation of sustainable development goals. Green energy, in particular, demands more dynamic management decisions that take into account fluctuations in energy generation, the integration of decentralized capacities, and the growing role of local initiatives. The need for new management strategies is substantiated, including the development of decentralized energy systems, the integration of digital monitoring and control solutions, expansion of cross-border energy cooperation, active attraction of investment, and modernization of energy infrastructure in line with European standards. It is emphasized that effective management should address not only current needs but also the formation of long-term energy development scenarios that consider climate commitments, energy integration with the EU, and post-war reconstruction processes.Green transformation is viewed as a key factor in achieving climate neutrality, energy independence, economic growth, and environmental sustainability in Ukraine. It is further emphasized that these changes represent not only an environmental necessity but also a strategic imperative for ensuring national security, economic resilience, and enhanced competitiveness on the global market.
