Abstract

The article analyzes the current state and outlines the directions for improving the domestic agribusiness and its ecosystem in the context of ensuring sustainable development under the impact of Russian military aggression. Agribusiness is a key sector of the economy, accounting for more than 60% of the country’s export revenues. The role of agricultural holdings as a crucial structural element of the agribusiness ecosystem is revealed. Being vertically integrated structures within the national economic system, they play a decisive role in shaping production potential and ensuring the export of agricultural and food products. The main challenges faced by agribusiness enterprises, as well as the peculiarities of implementing state agrarian policy, are investigated.

Possible directions for the transformation of the domestic agribusiness ecosystem are outlined, including: restoration of agricultural production and infrastructure destroyed by hostilities; introduction of environmentally friendly and resource-efficient technologies; expansion of Ukrainian producers’ access to credit resources and domestic and foreign markets; diversification of export channels for agricultural products.

The strategic guidelines for the sustainable development of Ukrainian agribusiness are defined, in particular: continuation of the implementation of the State Program for Agricultural Development and the provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU; increasing investments in agricultural infrastructure, research and innovation; promoting the development of agricultural cooperation, producer organizations, and contract farming; improving the regulatory framework of the agrarian sector and mechanisms of its implementation; and shaping an effective state policy of support for the industry in accordance with current challenges.
