Open Access and Copyright Policy
The scientific journal “Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics” adheres to an open access policy in accordance with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, and the standards of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
1. Open Access Principle
All articles published in the journal are freely available without temporal or technical restrictions. Any user may view, read, download, copy, and distribute the journal’s materials for educational and scholarly purposes without prior permission from the authors or the Editorial Board — provided that proper attribution is given and the use is non-commercial.
2. Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Upon publication, the article is simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence.
Authors are free to share and republish their articles in any repositories, on personal pages, or in other publications, provided that the original publication in the journal is cited.
Free use, distribution, and adaptation of materials — for non-commercial purposes, provided that authorship and source are acknowledged.
3. Terms of the CC BY-NC 4.0 Licence
The licence permits:
- freely reading, downloading, and distributing materials;
- citing and using materials for educational and scholarly purposes;
- adapting, reworking, or creating derivative works based on the journal’s materials.
The licence prohibits:
- any commercial use of materials without prior written consent from the authors and the Editorial Board;
- distribution of materials without attribution to the author(s) and the source of publication.
4. Self-Archiving (Green Open Access)
The journal supports authors’ right to self-archive their manuscripts in accordance with Sherpa/RoMEO standards. Authors are permitted to:
- deposit a preprint (the version prior to peer review) in open repositories or on personal websites — without any time embargo;
- deposit the final published version (version of record), with a mandatory link to the original publication in the journal.
In all cases, the article’s DOI and a full bibliographic reference to the publication in the journal must be provided.
5. No Article Processing Charges (APC)
6. Persistent Identifiers and Long-Term Access
Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring permanent and reliable access to the material regardless of any changes to the journal’s website.
The archiving and long-term preservation of published materials is described in the journal’s separate Archiving Policy.
