Technical Requirements for Manuscript Preparation

1. Manuscripts Accepted for Publication

The journal accepts:

  • contemporary, original, and independent research by doctors of science, candidates of science, young researchers (postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, students), and other persons engaged in scholarly activities;
  • articles that do not contain material prohibited for publication or material whose authenticity is in doubt; plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not permitted;
  • articles that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by other publications.

Publication in the journal is FREE OF CHARGE. Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis with no fixed deadlines.

2. Submission Procedure

Primary channel: Open Journal Systems (OJS) — register on the journal’s website and upload your manuscript and accompanying documents via the system.

Temporarily (until OJS is fully configured): aab-economics@kmf.org.ua (subject line: “Manuscript submission”).

Documents required for submission:

  1. Author Information Form (download template) — completed separately for each author.
  2. Manuscript prepared in accordance with these requirements.
  3. Review by a scientific supervisor or a specialist with a scientific degree (mandatory for authors without a scientific degree).

An ORCID ID is mandatory for submission. Register at: https://orcid.org/register.

Maximum number of authors: three. One author may submit only one article per issue.

3. Technical Parameters

4. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must include the following components in the order listed below:

2 UDC index In the upper left corner of the page (font size 12 pt).
3 Author name(s) On the next line, centred; no more than 3 persons (font size 13 pt).
4 Author information After each author: scientific degree, academic title, position, institution, city, country (font size 11 pt).
5 Title of the article One line below the author names, centred; up to 10 words; all capitals, bold (font size 13 pt).
6 Structured abstract One line below the title; italics; no less than 1800 characters without spaces (font size 11 pt). Elements: purpose, subject, method/methodology, results, scope of application, conclusions.
7 Keywords 5–8 words in alphabetical order (font size 11 pt, italics).
8 JEL Classification Below keywords; 1–5 codes separated by commas; bold. E.g.: JEL Classification: M10, M30.
9 Repetition of items 6–7 Provided consecutively: in Ukrainian (if the article is in English) and in Hungarian.
10 Body of the article Structured text (font size 13 pt) with bold-italic section headings (see Section 5 for details).
11 List of references DSTU 8302:2015; numbered in order of citation; references in square brackets (font size 11 pt).
12 References The same list in APA 7th ed. format in the Roman alphabet, in the same order (font size 11 pt).
13 Acknowledgements If applicable — gratitude to individuals or organisations for support (optional).
14 Funding Name of institution/fund and grant number (or statement that no targeted funding was received).
15 Conflict of Interest Statement of the presence or absence of a conflict of interest (mandatory).
16 AI Use Declaration Statement regarding the use or non-use of AI tools during manuscript preparation (mandatory).

5. Structure of the Article Body

The article body must contain the following sections (highlighted in bold italics at the start of a new paragraph):

  • Problem description — statement of the research topic, its relevance, and connection with scientific or practical tasks.
  • Literature review — analysis of recent research and publications, highlighting the unsolved parts of the problem.
  • Goals of the article — purpose of the study and formulation of specific research objectives.
  • Methods and methodology — data collection and processing methods, methodological approaches and their justification.
  • Main research results — structured presentation of findings with interpretation; may include discussion.
  • Conclusions and prospects for further research — concise summary, comparison with other authors’ findings, directions for future research.

6. Abstract and Keywords

6.1. Abstract

Length: no fewer than 1800 characters without spaces. The abstract is provided in three languages: Ukrainian, Hungarian, and English. The Editorial Board can assist with translation into Ukrainian and/or Hungarian.

The abstract must include: purpose, subject, method or methodology, results, scope of application, and conclusions. Impersonal constructions are used throughout.

6.2. Keywords

Between 5 and 8 words or phrases in alphabetical order; they must describe the content of the article and use standardised terminology to ensure discoverability in bibliographic databases. Provided in three languages together with the abstracts.

7. References

The reference list is submitted in two versions — in the same order:

  • List of references — in the original language, in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015; in-text citations in square brackets [1]; self-citations must not exceed 20%.
  • References — the same list in APA 7th ed. format in the Roman alphabet.

8. Tables, Figures, and Formulae

8.1. Tables

  • Placed directly in the text at the point of reference.
  • Must not span multiple pages.
  • Caption format: “Table 1” — on the right above the table; below the title — in the center.

8.2. Figures, Graphs, and Photographs

  • Inserted into the text as an object in the “In line with text” position.
  • Minimum resolution: 300 dpi.
  • Caption format: “Figure 1. Title” — below the figure, centred.

8.3. Formulae

  • Set using the Microsoft Equation editor or MathType built into Word.
  • Physical quantities must be given in SI units.
  • Formula numbering in round brackets, right-aligned.

9. Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts are checked for textual similarity using the StrikePlagiarism system. Manuscripts with an unacceptable level of similarity are rejected without peer review.
